  • John Oglesby

    Board chair

    John graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1992. After serving 12 years active duty in the navy as an F-18 pilot, he flew F-16s with the Air Force Reserve until retiring in 2014. He has done four tours of duty in Iraq and now works as a pilot for Southwest Airlines. John tries to maximize his time with his wife Holly and two sons Matthew and Cosmo. 

  • Dawn Rowe

    Dawn lives in Yucca Valley, CA where she raised her two children, Blake and Caitlin.  Her late husband, Captain Alan Rowe, was an active duty Marine stationed in 29 Palms when he was killed action in Iraq in 2004.  She is involved with local non-profit organizations, off-road desert racing, camping, and skiing.  Dawn is the San Bernardino County Supervisor (3rd District).  Dawn and her children have been a part of the Knights of Heroes family since 2008.

    Paul served 28 years in the United States Air Force as a commander and F-15/F-16 fighter pilot.  He retired as a Colonel in 2014 and now serves as General Manager for OrePac Building Products Denver.  Paul is a 1986 USAFA graduate and holds an MBA.  He lives in Monument, Colorado, with his wife Angela and two daughters, Madeliene and Aubrey.  Fly fishing, skiing, golfing and classic are his favorite pastimes.

    Kerri's husband, CW3 Michael L. Hartwick Jr., was killed in iraq on April 1, 2006. Kerri, along with her two children Haley and Tanner have attended camp every summer since 2007 either as participants, mentors or support staff. Kerri remarried in 2010 to Bill and is blessed to be a full-time mom to her two children and four stepchildren. Kerri loves traveling, outdoor activities, and making memories with family/friends. She is thankful to God for carrying her through life's trials and showing her blessings that come from the storm (one blessing being the KOH Foundation).

    Jason is a Dallas based First Officer for Southwest Airlines and a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force Reserve stationed in Fort Worth, Texas. He loves spending time with his wife Sara, and their daughters Savanna and Siena. They reside in Dallas, Texas and enjoy getting together with nearby family and exploring all of the activities the region has to offer.

    After a 30+ years of public service in operations and leadership in the United States Air Force, Pat transitioned into service for Lockheed Martin Corporation in 2016 as a government affairs and USAF customer requirements director. He, and his spouse Carol, reside in Northern Virginia.

    Heather is the mother of 3 young military men, 2 Air Force (Johnny and Ray) and 1 Army (Billy).  She has been a realtor in Colorado for 24 years and currently resides in Larkspur, CO with her husband Mark.  Heather loves all things outdoors, especially fly fishing, camping, hiking, travel, golf and skiing.  She loves to serve the Lord by serving others and reflecting in his love.

  • Kipling (kip) sharpe

    Kipling (Kip) Sharpe is an Orthopedic Surgeon in Gilbert Arizona. He received his BA from Westmont College in Economics and Business and Medical Education at the University of Southern California. His mother served in the Army in WWII and his father in the Navy in Korea. He is married to Martha and they have 5 adult children (2 boys and 3 girls), 3 of whom have volunteered at KOH. Kip and his family have been involved with KOH for 6 years. His pastimes are road cycling, skiing, scuba diving, and adventure travel. Having lost his own father at a young age, he knows the value of male mentors and is grateful for the opportunity to do that for others.

  • Chad ward

    Chad served over 27 years in the United States Army, and he commanded / held key staff positions in aviation units through the brigade level during 5 deployments in support of Operations Enduring Freedom/ Iraqi Freedom. He retired in 2020 and continues to support the DoD as the Director of Future Technology with Iron Mountain Solutions, INC. Additionally, he serves as a Senior Program Advisor on multiple programs in the Huntsville, Alabama area, where he and his wife, Stephanie now reside. They have three daughters and a son-in-law. He graduated from the University of Alabama with a bachelor’s degree and holds master’s degrees from Louisiana State University and the USAF Air War College.

    Steve is the founder of Knights of Heroes. He and his wife Suzanne have two boys, Jake and Tanner. Steve retired from the Air Force in 2015 after 21 years as an F-16 pilot. He did a short stint as a paramedic in the Colorado Springs Fire Department before becoming a civilian flight instructor. 

  • Kensi Witt - Honorary board member

    Kensington (Kensi) Witt is a 7th grade student at the Fine Arts Academy in Atascadero, California where she is an honor student.  She has a passion for animals and has been a member of 4-H for eight years.  She has been the Officer of the Community Service project the past three years.  She enjoys showing her registered Nigerian dairy goats, meat goat and sheep at local shows and fairs.  Kensington lives on a 2-acre farm with her parents, younger sister and brother and her grandparents.  Kensi was added to the board because of her love and dedication to Knights of Heroes Foundation, displayed through her continued fundraising and public awareness efforts.
