US Marine Corps
was 1/7's Weapon's Company Commander and killed on September 3, 2004 by an IED in the al Anbar province of Iraq. He left behind two children, Blake and Caitlin, and his wife, Dawn. He was proud to serve his country, and his sacrifice is a painful reminder that the freedoms we enjoy in our country are not "free". He loved being a Marine, he loved his family and his job, and he loved America. He is greatly missed, but never forgotten.
MSgt Kenneth Mack
My dad was a great man to some yet to me he was a friend. He would always beat me in basketball and tell me what I did wrong.
Now, he is my Guardian Angel. We had so many plans that we did not get a chance to complete. Still I hope my dad is looking down and smiling at me and praying for me.

“I hope someday you will understand what we are fighting for over there and why we had to do it. You know how I always tell you that I will keep you safe? Well it's my job to keep everyone safe and sometimes I have to go to bad places where people do bad things to do that.”………”This is your time to show me what a big boy you are and I know I can count on you buddy”……. “Keep my seat warm at the table and save me a seat next to you on the couch. I promise you I will be home before you know it. Be a good boy and remember daddy loves you!” ~from a letter left for Cameron when his father, SFC Shawn C. Dostie, deployed to Iraq in September 2005.

1SGT Michael J. Bordelon
My name is Jacob Bordelon and I am the son of 1SG Michael J Bordelon who died May 10, 2005 from his injuries sustained on April 23, 2005 in Mosul, Iraq. Not only he was a great soldier, he was also a great and loving father. He loves working on cars, cleaning the house, and cooking red beans and rice on his days off. I miss running to the door when he come home from work.
Major Troy “Trojan” Gilbert
Our Dad, Troy, was an Air Force F-16 pilot and was killed in action in Iraq on November 27th, 2006. He saved the lives of many soldiers on the ground that day. He became a hero to the world. But he was always our hero. He loved God first, then his family, (there are five kids in our family!), then serving his country. We want to be like him someday. We will always miss him.
